It's a Wrap! - SBAL Expo 2017

The energy was palpable in Buninyong on February 26th when around 1000 people
enjoyed the sun at the Smart Building and Living Expo at Royal Park.

Andrea Mason from Finding North – Aspects of Sustainability and Expo Director said “You know the Expo was a success when your traders are complaining of being hoarse, the kids are throwing tantrums as they are being dragged away from the waterbugs and the grownups are lingering longer to find out more from those who are passionate about green buildings, sustainable design and great lifestyle products. It is very inspiring to see…and gives hope for a more sustainable future for us all.”

This year we hosted the Village Market as well. The extra stalls and new crowd added to the success. Over 65 stallholders were present to sell, advise and entertain the crowds including builders, designers, solar systems, bushfire attack level ratings, Landcare, permaculture, food and lifestyle products – not to mention the 13 cars, motorbike and electric bikes in the electric and hybrid vehicle display which was a great success.

We raised ~ $1,000 from the auction and donations which together with a $2,000 grant from the Rainbow Serpent Festival, will be used towards establishing an electric vehicle charging station in Buninyong so we can be part of this new trend in transport and encourage newcomers to our lovely town.
